3 years back I got selected in Patni computers. I was very happy. I was a topper in my Training batch. I was unfortunately allocated to the Proj. with almost no onsite. rest of my friends got proj. with onsite opportunity. I worked really hard from last 3 years. Every time only seniors got onsite chance. Got 3 rating out of 5 all these years. But my salary is even less than the freshers joining Patni computers. It's 3.1 after 3 years. In this if I get 4 or 5 rating than I will get whole 3.1 package or else my package will be 2.78. (Ass Hole) Freshers are getting 3.6 without any fucking experience. Last year patni made mandatory to clear L1 and L2 Internal Certifications for promotion. I cleared both yet not promoted till today. I am really frustrated in this company. If you have no options for job than only consider Patni computers or else don't play with your career.

I have worked in this company from 2006 to 2009.. Needless to tell the significance of the period i was working was one with great depression since y2k... Positives: 1. If u join as a fresher there is nothin better than this place in IT arena if u want to learn and make ur base... 2. Onsite is something which you can always look forward to... 3. Job Role: there is no other company whr i cud have lead a team and could have become SPOC between client and Patni... 4. Amazing friendly atmosphere: as most of the gus are of ur age, u dont have too much 'Yes Sir' to do... 5. Exposure: As they are not professional enough to have experts of all the domain, u get a chance to explore into lots of stuff which u wont be allowed to touch in other company... Shortcomings: 1. Noone is more important than company policy: even though u have advantages when u join as fresher but after certain point Patni fail to realize ur potential or reward u according to industry standards... 2. As mentioned there is no professionalism, u learn some of the bad practices and u urself become less professional. 3. Salary is not industry stds 4. Very few seniors whom u can look up to... Conclusion: I believe everyone who joins Patni has done some mistake in his/her life... Now there are two kinds of people in Patni, one who are just too happy to get a job and they are ready to slog over years without growth and ultimately might become PMs because of sheer leght of service.. the other ones are those who take it as a springboard to launch their career upwards.. U decide whr u belong.. I would say join Patni if u dont ahve better offer to learn as much as possible and spend enough time on watever tech and then move on to better future..

I worked in Patni for approximately 3 years. The attitude of company is completely concentrated towards gaining client confidence. As far as i have gone through the policies of the company could never find a single line for the development of an employee. Following are the only two major reason for which you should be joining Patni: 1. Onsite opportunity 2. Transport facility provided by Patni (If you have problem in traveling) You may (Less chances) get a hike in Patni while joining, but then it is compensated in forthcoming appraisals :-)

Interview

I just want to share my interview experience with this company. I was 1st interviewed on phone and later called for a face-2-face in Mumbai. They said they would cover my 2nd AC train conveyance expenses to travel to Mumbai. I spent on the ticket and went for the interview. Everything went well except for salary negotiations. So I did not take up the offer. I did not expect that Patni would reimburse my train ticket expenses as I did not take the offer, but to my surprise I got a check for the amount I spent on the train ticket. Though I got it after about 6 months I still think thats cool. Now I am in US and the interview travel expenses policy followed by some of large companies is, they would only reimburse if we take up the offer. Isn't it cool? I cannot rate this company as I did not exactly work there.
