Not a bad starting job at all. The workplace is good, most employees are cool, even a lot of the managers. Sadly though, everyhing is based through the union. Pay, regulations, etc.. Also the company has been downszing which means less hours on an already low paying job.

This job would be good if the managers werent such pricks. The top ones ruin the entire store for everyone else. The pay could be better too. At least we have air conditioning during summer time.

A good job. Not a greatjob, but good. The pay is very low, but the company works with your hours pretty well. The "lower" managers are cool. God Bless air conditioning.

After working at Albertsons for five years in the grocery department, I have decided to move on. With ever increasing workloads, high turnover, and decreasing hours the stress has become too much. Pay: about average for low level employees, outrageously high for managers. Respect: none, unless your a member of the good ol'boy club. Benefits: decent until you realize that annual cost increases wipe out your pay raises. Job security: Turnover so high you would have to committ a crime before you'll get fired. Work/Life balance: reasonable if your a courtesy clerk (aka bagger), anyone else can forget about schedule flexibility. Career Potential/Growth: only if the managers like you, which has nothing to do with the quality of your work. Co-worker competence: Albertsons is getting what they pay for, low pay thus low work. Work environment: excessive mold giving workers severe alergies, workers getting staph infections from dirty employee restrooms, and lazy managers with attitude problems creating hostile enviroment.

Bottom line: If you like working your butt off for 7.00/hr so managers who get paid 50,000 a year can stand around and shoot the breeze, then work for Albertsons.

I've been working at Albertsons for.. 4 days (not including days off). Everyone I met was really nice, including the managers. They made sure to train me just the way I wanted to be. The hardest thing in my opinion is bagging, because the cashier throws everything at you and if you bag it wrong they get mad, and so does the customer. This is my first job and I still like it so far. The only things I do are push in carts, bag groceries, sweep the floor, and put items that customers did not want back where they belong, as well as replacing toilet paper and paper towels in the bathrooms. I make 8.25 an hour. I applied for full time but they gave me 20 hours starting week and next week I have 17 hours. Oh and when they say get comfortable shoes, they mean it. Your legs/feet will really start hurting after a while.

I honestly can say that I do like my job. I really do I don't mind be there doing what I have to do, it can be fun sometimes and sometimes not when the work load gets tough.

The biggest problem I have is nothing but staight up drama. What makes it worse is the people you work with. Let's just say it like this for me your either the "In crowd" or a staight "Nobody" and I'm a nobody. Do we have a open communication with the store director? No because you can't even trust him. I'm stuck getting treated horrible, everyday I wonder oh no lets see what Negative things my manager has to say, or what write up he gives me today. With that type of drama and stress just makes me not want to work there, and knowing that there is NO one to talk to about serious problems (do not want to share) just makes it worse. Well I'm suprised I'm still have my job, because I'm barley holding on by a string.
